The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) has strongly suggested that one of the ways agencies can prevent turnover is by providing more supportive resources, particularly in the area of family care. It is the goal of Beyond the Badge to help change the fearful, unsupportive culture that has infected law enforcement families with a mindset more closely resembling that of the Spartans. By providing the necessary tools, skills, and training, we strive to help parents, spouses, and children of law enforcement officers to feel more confident about the LE career, while simultaneously providing the love and support so critical to a well-rounded, successful officer. Agencies are battling a myriad of issues including recruitment and retention, perceived lack of support, and fatigue. More than ever they are finding themselves competing with each other for the most suitable and qualified candidates and trying to offer benefits to help their agency stand out for recruitment and retention of employees. Beyond the Badge will uniquely assist departments to overcome these obstacles by providing support for personnel and their families. We provide family support, training, and skills development to help officers and their families in these times of heightened stress.
